Semper Fi! (Semper Fidelis, "always faithful")

Mr. Kriner was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He entered the service on Jan. 6, 1967, at Cleveland, Ohio, and served on ground in Vietnam from January 1968 to November 1969. He was honorably discharged April 20, 1970, as a sergeant.

Ode to a Marine:

In a crowd you're bound to spot him,

He's standing so very tall

Not too much impresses him;

He's seen and done it all.

His hair is short, his eyes are sharp,

But his smile's a little blue.

It's the only indication

Of the hell that he's gone through.

He belongs to a sacred brotherhood,

Always Faithful 'til the end.

He has walked right into battle

And walked back out again.

Many people think him foolish

For having no regrets

About having lived through many times

Others would forget.

He's the first to go and last to know,

But never questions why,

On whether it is right or wrong,

But only do or die.

He walks a path most won't take

And has lost much along the way,

But he thinks a lot of freedom,

It's a small price to pay.

Yes, he has chosen to live a life

Off the beaten track,

Knowing well each time he's called,

He might not make it back.

So, next time you see a Devil Dog

Standing proud and true,

Be grateful for all he's given;

He's given it for you.

Don't go up and ask him

What's it's like to be in war;

Just thank God that it's your country

He's always fighting for.

And thank him too for all the hell

He's seen in that shade of green,

Thank him for having the guts

To be a United States Marine.

10.27.07 Grandpa Rudolph turns 80

Oct. 27 was a special family event! Jim Rudolph, my grandfather turned 80 years old. Actually his birthday was October 25 but we had a fabulous family birthday party at my parent's home in Canton, Georgia.All of my aunts were there. Karen, Patty, and Sandy helped host the party with my mom Barbara. It was wonderful to see all of my cousins and their children since I have not seen some of them in years! My son met some family he had never met before. We enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs cooked on the grill by my brother Josh and his wife Kate. They were delicious! We also enjoyed homemade icecream just like my Grandpa Rudolph used to make when I was little.The family told stories of memories past and we laughed and enjoyed each other's company. My favoriet memory? I had the best time getting together to watch old home movies shot by my Grandpa Rudolph while waiting anxiously for that homemade icecream to be done!!!Heather :)

7.22.07 Family visit with Gram Kriner

Hello! Today we visited Mom and Dad's house to visit Grandma Kriner (Mim). We listened to Dad and Chuck's CD of songs that they sang when they were teenagers. They were called "The Four Disciples". We watched as mom and dad poured a concrete walkway that curved from the back patio to the side walk way to the garage. It turned out very nice.We also ate dinner together. We had a nice time visiting.I took some pictures while out in the garden. See them below.

The Four Disciples was a christian acapella group made up of Don Kriner, Chuck Kriner, Nardy Beers, and Bill Twitchel. 2 brothers and 2 friends. They recorded 10 songs in 1961.

7.16.07-Charlie Kriner celebrates 60 years!

Charlie (Chuck) Kriner celebrated his 60th birthday with family on July 15, 2007. He had ice cream and cupcakes. He received lot of gifts and had so much fun.

6.30.07 Josh and Kate Celebrate 6 Years

Joshua Luke Kriner and Margaret Kate Kriner will be celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2007. Congratulations! We love you!

Lois Kriner Millsap had her Bat Mitzvah on June 1, 2007. She read from the Tora. After, we attended a wonderful reception in her honor. We are so proud of her! Matzel Tov!
